The Charlie & Mildred Martin Memorial Bursary/Scholarship

The Hanover, Bentinck and Brant Agricultural Society is pleased to offer this bursary/scholarship program to provide financial assistance for students within Hanover, West Grey & Brockton who are entering or currently enrolled in a post-secondary agricultural, agri-business, or environmental program. Two $2,000 awards will be presented to two students entering an eligible full-time apprenticeship, diploma or degree program starting in the twelve-month period beginning September 1st, 2023. Award winners will be presented their scholarships in August at a date to be determined.

Applications may be obtained from the website (www.hanoverfair.ca). Completed applications should be sent to hanoveragscholarship@hanoverfair.ca. Applications and supporting documents must be received no later than July 31, 2023 in order to be considered by the Scholarship Selection Committee. Successful applicants will be notified by email.





Requirements

The student must be a permanent resident within our membership area of Hanover, West Grey & Brockton
The applicant must have a proven record of involvement in the community showing interest in the field of agriculture and/or the environment
Applicants must provide:

Their completed application form
A transcript of their marks (may be a photocopy);
Proof of their volunteer service (i.e., a photocopy of the applicant’s secondary school volunteer service record or a list of volunteer service activities including hours, approximate dates and contact information);
Proof of enrolment in a full-time agricultural, agri-business or environmental postsecondary program. (If this is not yet available, proof of enrolment must be provided prior to scholarship/bursary funds being released.)

Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be considered.
