Requirements
In order to become a Schulich Leader and receive the scholarship, a student must first be selected by their high school or Cgep as a Schulich Leader Nominee. High schools (outside of Quebec)* may select one Nominee each, while Cgeps may select two. Criteria: Nominees must possess at least two of three criteria:
- Academic excellence
- Outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership
- Financial need**(Students planning to apply for financial assistance at university would meet the criterion of Financial Need")
- Nominees must be enrolling in an Engineering degree at one of our partner universities
- Nominees must be graduating from their high school or Cgep in the application academic year
- Nominees must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Deadlines: January- Deadline for school to submit one Nominee - choose a school staff representative to submit the Nomination form includes: Name and contact information for your school and name and contract information for your Nominee Sudent: Complete application form February 23 - Deadline for Nominee to submit Schulich Leader scholarship application requirements include:
- Universities where the Nominee wants to attend
- List of top three achievements (academic or other)
- 600 word essay demonstrating whey they would make a good Schulich Leader
- Optional 250 word essay to outline extenuating circumstances
- Two letters of reference (at least one from a school staff member)
- Copy of an up to date transcript or credit counsel summary
- Headshot profile image for marketing purposes
Process:
- Universities will review scholarship applications starting March
- Offers will be made between March 1 & June 15
- All Schulich Leaders are finalized by June 15
