Requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
- Full time student at an accredited university or community college in Ontario in Engineering/Technology (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Nuclear, Environmental), Computer Science, Law, Environmental Studies, Business, Communications, Human Resources, Communications, Human Resources, Information Technology, Trades or Aboriginal Studies, or other disciplines relevant to OPG's business
- In good academic standing (minimum B average)
- Demonstrated strength in written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills and involvement in extra curricular community/campus activities, including volunteer work
- Be First Nations, Inuit or Metis with proof of ancestry as issued by the Government of Canada
- Be a resident of Ontario
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada upon graduation

- Academic standing (official or unofficial) of most recent academic program
- Proof of First Nation, Inuit, or Metis status, as recognized and issued by the Government of Canada

Selection Process and Requirements:
- To receive this award, the applicant should not be receiving more than one other award of equal or greater value for the same academic year. Students may apply for the award more than once over the course of their academic career, but they can only win the award once
- Preference will be given to non-funded students
- All applications will be reviewed by OPG's Native Circle Selection Committee, in collaboration with People and Culture (Human Resources) and the Corporate Citizenship Program
- Short listed applicants should be prepared to participate in a telephone interview
- Upon notification as an award winner an official transcript must be provided to OPG within two weeks from your registrar's office
- Winners must be prepared to attend an award luncheon in August in Toronto to receive their award (OPG will cover travel cost associated with this event at an estimated amount)
- Possible opportunities for student placements or future employment will be explored in follow-up discussions with award winners
- The viability of this program depends on effective administration and on the maintenance of an arm's length relationship between the Native Circle Selection Committee and scholarship awardees. In other words, the selection committee must ensure there is no relationship between themselves and the awardee
