Ontario Federation of Agriculture Scholarship Program

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is offering five postsecondary bursaries in 2023. Along with offering three bursaries in the amount of $2,000 each to students in an undergraduate program, we are also offering a $2,000 bursary to a person completing an apprenticeship, as well as a $2,000 bursary for a person completing a post-graduate, veterinary, or leadership development program.

Bursary recipients will be selected from applicants who are OFA members, a child of, or employee of an OFA member and are residents of Ontario. Applicants should be able to demonstrate industry related accomplishments, an interest in agriculture and rural issues, and community involvement.





Requirements

Applicants must submit these forms to bursary@ofa.on.ca:

  • Application form
  • One-page cover letter written by the applicant explaining educational goals and future plans for involvement in the agriculture industry
  • Resume with highlights of your involvement in agriculture, accomplishments, and awards.
  • Proof of enrollment in your course of study
    • If entering your first year of the program, a copy of your acceptance letter
    • If already enrolled in a program, a copy to show most recent course enrollment
    • If you are completing an apprenticeship, proof of certification process or a letter confirming current placement will suffice
  • Letter of recommendation (from a mentor, employer, volunteer organization leader, etc.) that outlines your personal involvement in the industry and community, and your role as a current and/or future leader in agriculture.
