Municipal Retirees Organization of Ontario Student Scholarships

MROO's annual Scholarship Program awards a number of $3,000 scholarships, as well as the prestigious $5,000 Don MacLeod Leadership award, to students at a Canadian university, community college or similar post-secondary institution. These scholarships represent the importance we place on education and investing in today's younger generation.

MROO's Scholarship Committee is looking for applicants who have:

  1. Experience in leadership positions;
  2. A commitment to volunteer service and helping others; and,
  3. A clear vision of how they will make a difference in their community and the world.

Requirements

- Have a relative (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, great aunt, or great uncle) who is a MROO member or their surviving spouse.
- Be entering second year at a post-secondary institution.
- Have a home address in Canada.
- Complete and submit the application form.
- They must also submit a résumé, other documents outlined in the application form, and a 300-400-word essay.
