Larry & Darlene Miller Agricultural Bursary

The Larry & Darlene Miller Agricultural Bursary supports agricultural and agri-food studies and/or animal science or animal biology including genetics and/or food safety. This bursary supports post-secondary studies for students in financial need who are graduating from a Grey Bruce secondary school and who are attending a recognized university or community college recognized by the Education Team (a division of the Grants Review Committee) of Community Foundation Grey Bruce. This award is provided through the Larry & Darlene Miller Agricultural Endowment Fund held by the Community Foundation Grey Bruce.

Requirements

The award will support:

  • Complete the application form on Community Foundation Grey Bruce website
  • Agricultural and agri-food studies and/or animal science or animal biology including genetics and/or food safety
  • Students who are graduating from a Grey Bruce secondary school and is accepted in a recognized university or  college. Award consideration shall be given to a student who have demonstrated that they have shown initiative in helping themselves and others through personal motivation in their scholastic and extracurricular endeavors evidence by self-direction, time management and problem solving skills
  • Consideration shall also be given to a student with demonstrated commitment and involvement with team settings in rural agricultural groups (ie 4-H, Agricultural Societies or Fairs, Women's Institutes etc.), and/or faith organizations and/or arts organizations
  • The recipient will be determined by the Education Team (a division of the Grants Review Committee) of Community Foundation Grey Bruce which shall include input from at least one expert in the field of agriculture or agri-food
