Lake Huron Learning Collaborative Endowed Fund
For more than a decade, the Lake Huron Learning Collaborative (LHLC) worked to bring post-secondary learning opportunities (such as project management, personal support worker training, computer skills, literacy, and e-learning programs) to communities across Huron and Bruce Counties. Following the loss of its Kincardine location, the initiative was eventually disbanded.
Through a bequest from a donor in Goderich, a fund was established to continue LHLC’s commitment to education by providing an annual scholarship of approximately $1000. The scholarship is available to a student from Bruce or Huron County who has been accepted to, or is currently attending, a Canadian college or university.
Selection is based on the following criteria, listed in order of importance:
• Academic achievement
• Community or extracurricular involvement
• Course of study or career goals that contribute to strengthening local economies or fostering healthy communities in Bruce and Huron Counties
