Bruce County Women's Institute Open Scholarship

$500 This scholarship is provided for all secondary students, residing in Bruce County, who are furthering their formal education as a full-time student at a post-secondary institution (in their first or second year). For scholarship to be awarded, proof of enrollment must be received by the Bruce County District Women's Institute secretary by September 30.

Scholarship is forfeited after the September 30th deadline and will be awarded to the alternate. Application forms are available by contacting your school guidance department or the District Secretary for the Women's Institute (see contact info below).

Requirements

a) Applicant must be a resident of Bruce County. b) Applicant must have been active in school and community activities. c) Applicant must type an essay of a maximum of 250 words. (contact Women's Institute for details) d) Previous winners are not eligible. e) Full-time students entering first or second year of post-secondary institution studies. Conditions: a) Should other qualifications be equal, the Scholarship may be awarded to applicant whose parent or guardian is a Women's Institute member. b) Candidates may apply only once in any one year. c) When only one application is received, a mark of 75% in points must be attained for full Scholarship award. Half of the Scholarship amount will be awarded for a mark under 75%. d) Only black ink is permitted on applications. e) Only original and typed applications will be considered. Faxed and emailed copies will not be accepted.
