Bayer Crop Science Opportunity Scholarship

Bayer Crop Science Opportunities Scholarship opportunity is available for those entering full-time studies in either a bachelor’s degree or diploma program lasting at least two years relating to agriculture, food science and culinary programs of studies.

Twelve (12) successful applicants will each be awarded a scholarship valued at $5,000, based on your demonstrated academic standards and leadership in the community. Preference will be given to two (2) applicants of Canadian Indigenous heritage.

The selection of successful applicants is made by an independent panel.





Requirements

You are eligible if you:

  • Have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status in Canada as of the application deadline date.
  • Are planning to start full-time studies in your first bachelor's degree or diploma program.
  • There is no minimum cumulative average required (non-academic courses, such as career or personal development related courses, will not be considered).
  • If you have applied for entry into a college or university, but have not yet been accepted, you can still apply for the Opportunity Scholarship. However, if you are awarded a scholarship, you must provide an acceptance letter from your educational institution.

 

Students must use the scholarship in the academic year for which it is awarded.

Required Documents:

  • Both a personal and a nominational testimonial reference form from someone unrelated to you.
  • Transcripts of the last three (3) terms of available marks. Home school grades will only be accepted if they have been validated through a recognized independent evaluation process.
  • A validation of indigeneity if choosing to self-identity as being a person of indigenous heritage.
  • And, an 300-500 word essay responding to the following prompt: “Canadian Farmers play an important role in feeding the world in a sustainable way; what role will you play?”.
