Why Does The Community Foundation Do This?
Government changes and amalgamation of communities have made it necessary for communities to actively participate in maintaining the quality of life for present and future residents. Through amalgamation and the renaming of communities, these communities may experience a loss of identity. The building of a community specific fund not only keeps that tie to the past, it allows residents to prosper within the new municipal structure. Endowments established in Grey-Bruce communities pooled with the assets of the Community Foundation Grey Bruce gives access to a greater pool of investment money. The bigger the investment, the bigger the return on it. Lower maintenance fees are involved, too. It is a wise use of resources to add to the already more than $4.3 million in assets managed by the Community Foundation. |
