Objectives and Goals

The Community Foundation Grey Bruce's Objectives Are To:

  • support social services to advance the welfare of the needy and alleviate human suffering and poverty.

  • assist and promote the arts and cultural activities including, without limitation, theatre, dance, literature, film and video, music, painting and sculpture.

  • advance education by establishing scholarship funds and other specific educational endeavours.

  • support and advance the provision of medical services through the funding of medical facilities and medical research.

  • encourage and support physical fitness and community activities.

  • encourage heritage preservation.

  • support and advance conservation and the environment through funding of conservation and environmental facilities and research.

  • support and advance other community activities or facilities of a charitable nature.

  • fulfill our mandate by making grants to qualified donees as described in the Income Tax Act of Canada.

Goals

  • build the endowment funds, so the Community Foundation can offer more support to worthy community projects.

  • create public awareness and build local ownership of the Foundation.

  • educate the allied professionals (lawyers, accountants, clergy, those involved in financial and estate planning), so that they can better serve their clients and build partnerships.

  • assist other charitable groups to build their own endowment funds under our management and increase their sustainability (Agency Funds).

  • expand to cover all of Grey and Bruce counties.
