Community Convening and Leadership

As knowledgeable partners in community life, the Community Foundation Grey Bruce uses its broad perspective to help build strong, caring communities. The Community Foundation works to empower others, connect diverse parts of the community, and to foster dialogue through inclusive collaboration to improve quality of life.

As an example of this work, the Community Foundation has hosted both environmental public meetings and Environmental Forum 2003. At these venues, people talked about the work they do and the problems they see affecting the Great Lakes shoreline and its watershed. Community Foundation provided the neutral setting where many voices gathered, and all voices were heard.

Presently, Community Foundation Grey Bruce continues to provide leadership and guidance in the development of two Environmental Forums. Partnering with area organizations and individuals concerned with local environmental issues, the Foundation has received a grant from Community Foundations Canada to present a forum in Grey County in 2008 and another in Bruce County in 2009.
